Infrequently Asked Questions
What’s something people don’t know about you?
I’m neurodivergent.
How often do you think about the color of your skin? Why do you think that is?
Pretty often. It’s not uncommon for me to be the only person of color in spaces, and it’s hard not to notice that.
What stops you from vocalizing your needs?
I think my experiences as an immigrant has made me adopt a ‘head down, work hard’ attitude to facing challenges, which at times has stopped me from vocalizing my needs. I’m learning it’s okay to tell people what you need, whether that’s asking for help, setting boundaries, or embracing the freedom to be yourself – and can do so while still keeping your head held high.
